As a permanently busy mum of two constantly-on-the-go whirlwinds, I know how chaotic family life can get! Work, housework, shopping, entertaining kids, me-time (yeah... right!) - there's so much to cram into each day. How many times have you thought, "There just aren't enough hours in the day!"?
Plus, we also have autism thrown into the mix, as Tink, my daughter, is on the autism spectrum. Life in an 'autism family' can be hectic, and exhausting - but every day is different!
As well as being a mum for a decade (and a stepmum for almost twice that!), I have many years’ experience as a childcare professional, working my way up from the bottom to eventually manage nurseries and a preschool. I loved finding new, fun ways for the children to learn and develop, and even though I’m now a stay-at-home mum, I haven’t stopped with the messy play!
And, as a long-term fan (off and on, I admit!) of Slimming World, I have lots of experience creating, cooking and eating healthy, balanced meals that all the family will love (I am becoming a master at disguising veg!).
I'm always looking for ways to make life a little easier; less stress = happier mum = happier family = happy days!
So, if you're a busy mum (or dad!) who is looking for ideas on feeding the family whilst watching your weight (and without cooking several different meals), or you want tried-and-tested activities to do with the children, smug in the knowledge that not only are they fun, but they're educational (but mostly fun - and think of the instagram pics!), you've found the right place!
And, if you are the parent of an autistic child, come on in! I'll share our experiences so far: diagnosis, EHCPs, school choices, sensory activities and more. I hope you like it here!
P.S... I'd love you to come and join our brilliant Facebook community. It's all about supporting each other to be the best versions of ourselves that we can be. Click the button, and I'll see you there!
