Hello! My name is Kelly. I am a wife, a mummy, a stepmum, and knackered. In that order. Actually, knackered should be first. In an ideal world I’d be a photographer and a writer. One day…
In the summer of 2015 we were told our beautiful daughter, Tink, has autism spectrum disorder. This blog is my way of dealing with the craziness of my mind and our life right now.
Tink is the most amazing little girl and she makes me smile every single day. She also makes me tear my hair out and cry pretty often too, but, that’s life, isn’t it? Especially life with autism.
In my former life, I was a child care professional and managed early years settings. A little while ago, I decided to give up my career to become a full-time carer for Tink, at least until she’s settled into a suitable school. Now, I spend my ‘free’ time blogging, mostly. I write for my own blog and have a Facebook page with lots of lovely followers that I try to keep updated regularly. I have also written articles for other sites, including The Mighty, HuffPost and AutismAwareness.com. You can find links to these here.
I hope you enjoy reading about Tink and our family’s adventures with autism. I write honestly and from the heart. I’d love to hear from you, either via the blog or via social media – links can be found at the top of the page!
