A Despicable Dinnertime – Despicable Me 3 Gift Sets from Arthur Price – Review

Kelly Reviews 2 Comments

Are your kids Minions-mad? Do they take tips on scheming from Gru? Run around shouting “it’s so FLUFFY!!”? Mine love it, and are looking forward to seeing the new Despicable Me 3 movie in the summer holidays. They were also very excited to receive a delivery from Arthur Price containing products from the ‘Despicable Me 3’ children’s collection, launched to coincide with the release of the film!

Despicable Me 3 Children’s Dinner Set from Arthur Price

Arthur Price is a family-run business which manufactures beautiful ranges of cutlery, dinner services and giftware. They have collaborated with several well-known designers to produce stunning collections of both classic and contemporary patterns.

And you don’t get much more contemporary than ‘Despicable Me 3’!

Created especially for children to coincide with the launch of the new film in cinemas, the collection features two children’s cutlery sets and bone china dinnerware, absolutely covered in Minions!

The dinnerware can be bought individually, or in a 2-piece set featuring a mug and a bowl, or 3-piece set featuring a plate, bowl and a mug. These are bone china.

There are two cutlery sets, ‘Expressions’ (shown here) and ‘Sea of Minions’ and each set features four chunky pieces for smaller hands: a fork, knife, dessert spoon and teaspoon. The cutlery is made from 18/10 finest stainless steel and comes with a 15-year guarantee.

Despicable Me 3 Gift Sets from Arthur Price – what did we think?

The gift sets are nicely packaged in presentation boxes and would indeed make a lovely gift for a Minion-mad little one. I say little one, but Big, who is almost ten, was keen to get his hands on the china set, leaving the cutlery for Small!

The cutlery is a really lovely shape; chunky, but not clunky like some cutlery sets for younger children. The Minions Kevin, Stuart and Bob are featured on the handles, along with phrases such as “Powered By Bananas”. (The Sea of Minions’ set features… a sea of Minions!)

The bone china dinnerwear is colourful (well, mostly yellow!) and fun, and Big loves eating his breakfast cereal from the bowl to reveal the Minion hiding in the bottom!

The china states that it’s microwave and dishwasher safe, and, while we’ve not tried it in the microwave, it’s had several washes in the dishwasher and comes out perfect.

The Despicable Me 3 gift sets make a lovely present for any little (or Big) one who loves the films and all things Minion. They are available from Arthur Price here and the items in the range are priced between £8.95 for a mug to £24.95 for the breakfast set or cutlery sets.

Disclosure: We were sent a cutlery set and a breakfast set from the Despicable Me 3 gift range from Arthur Price for the purposes of this review. However, as usual, all views and opinions are very much my own (unless the kids have chipped in!)
